The 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse is DONE and my final results are heeeere!! Ive said it before but I am still in blissful shock and amazement at my journey with this program! Ill cut to the chase and share the outline of my last five days and weight loss results.
- Down another pound!
- Day Six Smoothie Peach Berry Spinach. At this point I decided to stop adding the vegan protein powder to these smoothies altogether. I personally dont like the taste and it made the smoothies texture a bit unappetizing to me.
- Feeling very energized but sore from the previous days workout.
- Meals included two apples, raw cashews, two boiled eggs, a can of tuna fish, carrots and celery sticks.
- Drank 82 ounces of water, two cups of green tea and a cup of Yogi Detox Tea.
- Day Two Workout 21 Day Fix Day Upper Body Fix. So happy that there werent any lower body exercises included because my legs and glute muscles were SO SORE! Still took it easy by using lighter weights .
- Day Eight Smoothie Spinach Kale Berry.
- Meals included an apple, raw walnuts, two boiled eggs, carrots and a SquareBar.

My Overall Opinion Of The 10
Overall, I think this is a fabulous, well-planned cleanse. JJ Smith has done a wonderful job creating this detox plan. It has truly been one of the most effective detoxes Ive ever been on. I love how its just 10 days which makes it very doable. I do wish there were more snack options and options to either do a smoothie or salad. If you dont like whole fruit smoothies then youre out of luck with this one. I LOVE smoothies but I did get sick of this towards the end. I found myself craving different textures besides the smoothie and approved snacks. Id definitely do this detox again in the future.

Im now one week post-green smoothie cleanse. First, I wanted to make sure to wean myself off of it properly. J.J. Smith strongly advises doing this since immediately going back to eating meat and other regular solid foods can cause major bloating and discomfort, not to mention weight gain. With all of this in mind, here is what Ive done so far along with my current eating plan.
Weaning Off The Cleanse The First Two Days
J.J. Smith recommends her Fat Flush Soup to help wean off of the green smoothie cleanse and gradually adding more solid foods back into your diet. This soup is not included in her book. During the first two days after finishing the cleanse, I enjoyed two smoothies per day, a nice big cup of the Fat Flush Soup and the same snacks I ate during the cleanse. I ended up losing another half a pound during this time!
Gradually Adding More Foods
I drink decaffeinated green tea during the day and a detox tea at night before going to bed.

More substantial than a juice cleanse, the green smoothies are based with kale, spinach and other leafy greens and are then mixed with various fruit combinations, which make the smoothies quite yummy unlike their bright green appearance. The best part of the cleanse is that is not a starvation diet. In fact, it is encouraged that you snack between the smoothies when you are hungry. JJ doesnt recommend the full cleanse be longer than two weeks straight she says that you dont want to run the risk of slowing your metabolism so its important to take a break from the full cleanse and re-introduce whole foods into your diet. A break would be several weeks . However, two green smoothies plus a high-protein meal per day is very healthy and can be done for life.
If youve been off the 10-day cleanse for a few weeks and now want to redo the full cleanse or do it for longer than 2 weeks, you have to deliberately add more protein into your diet and be sure to rotate or use different greens each week.
Also, once you get rid of toxins and waste during your first 10-day cleanse, you will most likely lose less the next time you do the full cleanse. Normal weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week after the cleanse. By doing the full cleanse longer than 14 days, you run the risk of slowing your metabolism which will just make it harder to lose weight in the long run.
