Wake up feeling: Tired.
Make up the days smoothie with as much energy as one can muster after eating rabbit food for a week. Taste the smoothie, revolting. Manage to eat half of the morning portion then ditch it along with the rest. It was the texture more than anything, just not nice. Make up the day 6 smoothie which was my favourite. Im sure there was some method to JJs madness with the order in which she wrote those recipes but I couldnt give too much of a toss today.
I am really lethargic today, I did go to bed quite late and was up briefly at 6am then properly at 7am. So probably not quite enough sleep. I am however determined to go to yoga tonight and push on through. Feel like I am no longer limping to the finish line, Ive dropped to my knees and am reaching for the white flag.
Not a bad afternoon, did a few difficult emails that Ive been storing up at work for a day like today . I have definitely had a few cranky days on this cleanse.
6pm. Its time for downward dog. The class is good, I am somewhat disturbed to be sweating and breathing heavily during the warm up but I get through the rest of the class without too many stumbles. A quick happy baby and Im home.
8:20. Rooibos tea, a spoon of peanut paste and some trash TV.

Prep Your Smoothies & Snacks
- Place your snacks in the appropriate pre-portioned containers or baggies.
- If you work, you can make your smoothie recipe the night before, place in the freezer using these bags or simply leave in the refrigerator overnight in your to go container.
- Some people prep their entire smoothies recipes by placing the appropriate ingredients in freezer bags and taking them out when needed.
- However remember fresh not frozen is always best!

You wont even know its in your smoothie, all you will taste is the fruit. As you become accustom to the spinach try swapping half of it for kale or chard, adding more of the new greens and less of the spinach until your taste buds start to enjoy your new food.

Kale, carrots, apples, peaches, bananas, boy choy, celery, cucumbers, beet, mango, blueberries, pineapple, arugula, parsley, spinach, lettuce, turnips and even flax seeds.
These are the types of ingredients youll be putting into your smoothies. There is a recipe for a different smoothie everyday so youll never be drinking the same thing. Itll change day by day and many smoothies combine both fruits and vegetables. If you need sweeteners, the ingredient stevia is allowed.
Solid foods you can eat that arent going to be in the smoothie include: Eggs, unsalted nuts and fish and you can also eat fruits and vegetables as well as make salads.
Foods and drinks that are not allowed on this cleanse: Alcohol, anything with artificial sugar or white flour, sodas, milk, cheese. Anything that is one the list of allowed stuff is what you should only follow.

Where I Am Going From Here
So after a triumphant nine-pound weight loss on J.J. Smiths 10-Day Green Smoothie Cleanse, where do I go from here? Many people finish the program with concerns about regaining the weight that was lost. Im no different! After dedicating the time, focus and energy that it took to get such amazing results, I have every intention on continuing with a healthy lifestyle and steady weight loss!
Im now one week post-green smoothie cleanse. First, I wanted to make sure to wean myself off of it properly. J.J. Smith strongly advises doing this since immediately going back to eating meat and other regular solid foods can cause major bloating and discomfort, not to mention weight gain. With all of this in mind, here is what Ive done so far along with my current eating plan.
Weaning Off The Cleanse The First Two Days
J.J. Smith recommends her Fat Flush Soup to help wean off of the green smoothie cleanse and gradually adding more solid foods back into your diet. This soup is not included in her book. I found it on her Facebook page. Here is link for the recipe: Fat Flush Soup. This soup is so good and very filling! During the first two days after finishing the cleanse, I enjoyed two smoothies per day, a nice big cup of the Fat Flush Soup and the same snacks I ate during the cleanse. I ended up losing another half a pound during this time!
Gradually Adding More Foods
I drink decaffeinated green tea during the day and a detox tea at night before going to bed.
Buy Your Snacks Tea Protein Powder & Ground Flaxseed

You can also find detox tea at health food stores.
I personally do not use a protein powder because I do not feel the need for it. However if you work out you may want to consider the Nutiva Hemp Protein powder which is recommended. This powder is high in fats and protein and tastes good! A scoop of protein powder can be added to your smoothie to help you feel full longer.
Use a flaxseed like the one below. Make sure it is organic and ground!

Apple Berry Detox Smoothie

First things first, you need an awesome blender to make your green smoothies nice and smooth.

You must make certain you have one that will work well.
I believe you can make the smoothies using a normal blender, but I discovered my Ninja blender was just too large to make the smoothies nice and smooth.
On my first time trying the green smoothie cleanse, I tried this Farberware blender because I was trying to take the cheaper route. I give it a 6 out 10 stars as it did make the smoothies.
However, it did not pulverized the greens to that much desired consistency and I had to force myself to not gag over the distinct taste of ground up greens.
I didnt know better, I thought thats how the green smoothies were supposed to taste!

A basic detox smoothie recipe contains some type of leafy green vegetable like kale, spinach, or chard, along with some type of fruit like bananas, berries, apples, or pineapple.
