Start Every Morning Off Right
The first step- lemon green tea. You should drink this as soon as you get up in the morning.
Green tea has catechins to help get rid of toxins, it binds metals in liver, helps with caffeine withdrawl. The coffee drinkers will appreciate this drink each morning.
The lemon has phytochemicals which boosts detoxes liver, cleanses the bowel.
1 green tea bag, 1 sliced lemon, 1 tsp stevia
I found a whole lemon sliced was a bit much. I used about half a lemon in my tea, and drank another mid morning when I would usually have a coffee.
Day 1 Of Smoothie Detox Cleanse
I started off with the green tea, which, surprisingly, I enjoyed. The breakfast shake tasted pretty good, although I could taste the spinach more than I liked. It definitely was filling, though. I started to get a little hungry mid-morning, but I just sucked it up. Too much of a project to try to make this concoction during an early, rushed, free period.
The lunch shake, in all honesty, almost made me gag. First, it made waaaaay too much four cups.
That is a A LOT of green smoothie. FOUR cups! Ugh.
To me, the cucumbers were overwhelming, and for some reason, I just didnt like how it tasted with the coconut. I literally had to hold my nose and chug to get it down. It took me a couple of hours to do. So, after lunch, I was definitely feeling defeated and not sure if I could finish this cleanse.
But not wanting to fail, in public , I persevered. The lunch shake took so long to drink that I didnt have time to make a snack shake before dinner and I was still too full from lunch, so I skipped it.
The dinner shake tasted good, although the cayenne was a little noticeable.
I didnt notice any side effect a little bit of a headache, but nothing severe.
I took the vitamins all at once instead of mixed through the day .
I did the Epsom salt bath that night as well. Some reviews I read said they LOVED it, but for me, I didnt really notice anything one way or another.

The lunch drink is on the greener side, combining almond milk with celery, cucumber, kale, and green apple. However, the secret ingredient here is coconut oil, which in the video Oz’s guest on the show, Dr. Mark Hyman, notes is anti-inflammatory. The detox calls for slightly more filling fats like avocado and flaxseed for dinner while keeping things sweet using mango and blueberries. Hyman praises coconut water as the star ingredient, thanks to its electrolytes and hydrating properties. To round out the day, there’s even a bubble bath that calls for Epsom salt, and while it may not exactly be a major detoxifier, the lavender oil drops do sound super relaxing .
According to Oz, certain cleanses like the lunch drink may feel like they give you a boost of energy. However, the fact is that it’s probably in your head, as the Mayo Clinic states that there’s little research to show that detoxes do what they claim. Still, as long as it’s a cleanse that’s on the shorter side like the plan recommended by Dr. Oz, or a delicious smoothie, at the very least, it’s a way to sneak in your daily serving of fruits and vegetables.
