Dr Lee Centers Her Nighttime Skincare Routine On Preventing Wrinkles And Skin Damage
After removing your makeup, it’s time to wash your face. In Harper’s Bazaar‘s “Go To Bed With Me” series, Dr. Sandra Lee suggests alternating between a salicylic acid cleanser and hydrating cleanser each night. Dr. Lee also emphasizes the importance of washing your face with lukewarm water. While your skin is still wet, she says to apply a moisturizing hyaluronic acid serum. “When your skin is still moist, that is the prime time to moisturize your skin,” she says. While allowing the moisturizer to settle into your skin, Dr. Lee recommends applying deodorant due to the fact that it will be the most effective when your sweat glands are mostly dormant while you sleep.
After the moisturizer has settled into your skin, apply a retinoid cream to your face that will work to minimize fine lines and wrinkles over time. Then, apply healing ointment to the areas around your lips and eyes to ensure these fragile areas can remain hydrated throughout the night. Finally, Dr. Lee recommends finishing the nighttime skincare routine by applying a Benzoyl Peroxide spot treatment on acne spots.
For those who can’t resist popping their zits, Dr. Lee emphasizes the importance of waiting until the zits are near the surface in order to avoid making the blemishes worse. She is Dr. Pimple Popper, after all, so you better listen up.

Do Change Your Face Mask Every Day
Maskne is a big problem everywhere. Were all wearing face masks and its like you have this sort of microclimate in there, youre just breathing into the space. The humidity and the moisture that builds up there can help to clog your pores, especially if were wearing make-up.
The best thing to do is try to take breaks from your mask. I tell people to change your mask like you change your underwear which should be probably daily.
Try to keep them clean. If you can wash them, have a steady rotation. Like you would have an underwear drawer, now you should have a little mask drawer!

Minimal Makeup Prevents Face
Recently, Lee has considered how the coronavirus pandemic could affect her skin and adjusted her routine accordingly.
“During the day, because of having to wear a mask, I try to wear minimal face makeup,” Lee said, because it prevents bacterial buildup in the pores that can lead to acne.
She only puts makeup on the top half of her face and keeps acne wipes with exfoliating ingredients on hand so she can remove any dirt or other debris that may have settled into her skin while wearing her mask.
You Should Wash Your Reusable Mask Every Day Or Have Multiple Masks In Rotation
Once you have your mask, upkeep matters.
“I think you should wash them as much as you would wash your underwear,” Lee said, so after each use.
She also suggested having a different mask for each day of the week so you don’t have to launder your covering daily, but still have a clean material to prevent bacteria buildup.

She Treats Existing Dark Spots
But Lee’s skin isn’t spot-free, so she incorporates a dark-spot corrector to treat discolored areas on her face.
“I have been incorporating a skin color correction cream I created, Dark Spot Fix, which helps improve the appearance of any discoloration resulting from acne, sun damage, and melasma,” she said.

Celebrities Love Dr Pimple Popper Too
Even celebrities declare their love for her.
As Dr. Lee told ABC News, I think Selena Gomez got interviewed by this CEO of Instagram and asked the most interesting page that she follows. And she said my page. I felt like, really, that there was a change. And then all of a sudden I was okay. And so thank you, Selena.
On top of all that celebrity love, Dr. Lee recently appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, with fellow guest Tracee Ellis-Ross, for an extra dose of pimple-bursting worship.
Clarkson announced to the studio audience, Shes going to show us how to get rid of those zits, yall! Ross suited up with gloves to act as assistant, and got her Popaholic on.

Dermatologists diagnose sun damage spots as solar lentigos , senile lentigos , or seborrheic keratoses . I like to call them all wisdom spots! These dark patches can form after a long day in the sun or after years of cumulative sun damage which is why its so important to be wearing SPF all the time. Most dark spots of this nature are typically harmless, but if you have any concerns about their shape or size, you should definitely consult with your dermatologist so that they can confirm their cause, whether or not they need to be biopsied, and to figure out the best treatment approach. Dark spots cannot just simply be generalized or assumed to be one thing, so consulting with an expert is necessary for absolute confirmation.
Thankfully, salicylic acid is way more legit than some of the old DIY treatments women used to use:
I also like retinol for treating dark spots. Retinol works by increasing cell turnover, which means your skin is being told to shed old cells and create new oneshelping to get rid of those older dark spots. You should only use retinol at night as it is deactivated by the sun and not effective if applied in the morning. An easy way to implement retinol into your skincare regimen is by choosing a night serum or treatment such as SkinBetter AlphaRet Overnight Cream FACE .

The One Skin Care Ingredient Dr Pimple Popper Says Is Worth It
Despite amassing millions of and followers for her extreme extraction videos, Dr. Sandra Lee more commonly referred to as Dr. Pimple Popper has no skin in the game when it comes to promoting fancy products and dropping thousands of dollars on a routine.
The board-certified dermatologist rose quickly to viral sensation status when she first posted a blackhead extraction video in 2015. Now she has a show on TLC, a new book and a skin care line that she told HuffPost was formulated for people who cant see a dermatologist.
But when it comes to caring for her own skin, shes way more casual about the whole thing than you might expect.
HuffPost recently sat down with Lee to talk about what she considers the most important product in a skin care routine, the ingredient to look out for and what happens to her patients after their blemishes are removed.
Skin care product options can be overwhelming and overpriced. Whats the most crucial item for a person on a budget to have in their routine?
You dont need a lot of money. Sunscreen is the most important thing, but you dont need to spend a lot of money on soap and cleansers things like that.
Thats not what the skin care industry would like us to believe.
Do you think anything is really worth the hype?
I think using retinol is really important. Its something we have in one of our products, which are at more of a clinical grade.
What does your skin care routine look like?
Thats why Im so careful with my patients!
Dr Pimple Popper Prefers A Mineral
Dr. Pimple Popper always uses an SPF-containing product to protect her skin from the sun.
She told Insider that even those who spend lots of time indoors should use a sunscreen, since the wrinkle-causing rays can get through windows and affect your skin.
Lee prefers a mineral sunscreen in powder form because it “keeps my skin protected from sunburn and more severe skin damage like signs of aging and skin cancer.” The powder formula also reduces shine if you have an oily complexion.
She uses her skincare line’s SLMD UV Bounce powder sunscreen because it comes in an-easy-to-use brush that she can take anywhere and reapply.

Dr Pimple Popper’s Tip For Combating Maskne:
Even if you’ve never struggled with breakouts prior to the coronavirus, you may now be experiencing a bit of maskne with the continuous use of having material covering your face for extensive hours.
Dr. Lee explained how she changed her routine to account for having to wear a mask.
“During the day, because of having to wear a mask, I try to wear minimal face makeup,” she said, which could lead to clogged pores. Instead, she only applies makeup to the top part of her face. Additionally, she keeps exfoliating acne wipes with her so she can wipe her skin throughout the day to help remove any buildup of dirt or bacteria that may have set into the skin.
Dr. Lee also explained simple tricks on preventing maskne, such as washing your mask often. “I think you should wash them as much as you would wash your underwear,” she said. Overall, wash your mask every day. Period.

Dr Pimple Popper’s Line Helps With Various Skin Concerns
She appears to have made that wish come true, because Dr. Pimple Popper’s skincare line features a range of products with ingredients you might know if you ever spent an extended amount of time at the skincare section of your favorite beauty store. Salicylic acid, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, retinol, hyaluronic acid, and hydroquinone are listed as active ingredients for the SLMD line of products. The site also features suggestions for total-protection skincare which support different types of skin concerns from aging to acne to oily skin .
Dr. Lee keeps her own daily skincare routine lean and mean by sticking to just a few products, she told Insider. She’s partial to her line’s salicylic acid cleanser, which can both clean and gently exfoliate and is good for dry skin. She also uses her own-brand serum with hyaluronic acid to fight dryness. Another personal favorite? “I love my cleansing wipes. My fave before that was the Neutrogena wipes, which are pretty popular, but I feel like my wipes get makeup off better and they don’t dry up.” Dr. Lee said to Cosmopolitan
Her products may not be the most inexpensive, but judging by the rates you need to pay to see her, SLMD’s products could end up being a bargain.
Dr Pimple Popper Brings Slmd Skincare Range To Uk
Celebrity dermatologist Sandra Lee MD, also known as Dr Pimple Popper, is bringing her hit US SLMD Skincare brand to UK shores, as she seeks to further her mission of democratising dermatology.
Lee, who is watched by millions online and on her TLC TV show Dr Pimple Popper, launched the SLMD brand in the US in 2017, with the aim of bridging the gap between a doctors visit and a trip down the skincare aisle,” and making dermatology “accessible to all.”
Products are backed by extensive education about specific skin concerns and how to treat them, both on pack, online and via the brands social media.
The UK range will initially launch with a curated range of products focused around blemish control, signs of ageing and dry skin, all of which have been designed to address real skin conditions in the way a doctor would.”
Speaking exclusively to TheIndustry.fashion, Lee said: Not everyone can slide into the patients chair, but they can absolutely benefit from a doctors knowledge, care, and expertise and thats where SLMD Skincare comes in.
The SLMD product range melds very well with our social media and our TV show, weve been educating them via all these different channels so now people are much better when it comes to understanding things like the stages of acne, or what Keratosis pilaris is, so, it really makes sense to launch this now, especially as a lot of people cant just see a dermatologist whenever theyd like.
