Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Ingredients:
Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil, Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Polyethylene, PEG-5 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Water / Aqua / Eau,Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol
This is from my earlier review of the Clinique TTDO Cleansing Balm.
Ive highlighted in bold the common ingredients in both cleansing balms. In the Estee Lauder one, there are some additional ingredients which may or may not deliver benefits to your skin. However, as this is a cleansing product that you immediately wash off, I am not convinced that any soothing or antioxidant ingredients, will really benefit the skin. Thats just me though, so work within your understanding and beliefs.
The other thing I want to point out is the price differential which is accurate as of today in 2017.
- Estee Lauder ANMCB: RM175/US$45 for 70ml
- Clinique TTDOCB: RM135/US$29 for 125ml
I think its a no-brainer which to go for
But dont let me influence you
Oh heck, let me!
Have you tried this Estee Lauder cleansing balm? DO you like it?
Ive looked around online but no one seems to have noticed or picked up on the marked similarity between the Estee Lauder and Clinique cleansing balms. They are so similar as to practically be the same price and slight additional ingredients notwithstanding. So really, just pick whichever you like and that suits your budget. But I think I know which you will pick!

Este Lauder Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm & Cleansing Foam Review
Im not one to play favourites, but cleansers are my guilty pleasure when it comes to skincare. Over time Ive realised they play a huge part in the health and well being of ones skin keeping pores clear of any dirt n debris, taking off all traces of makeup to ensure your expensive skincare is absorbed well, cleansers truly are the cornerstone of a good skincare regime.
Lately Ive been testing a number of new cleansers and first up in the pipeline are these new additions by Estée Lauder. Theres a new Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Foam and Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm. Both which Im equally excited to talk about!
According to the press release, whats special about these cleansers is they are formulated to thoroughly cleanse ones face without compromising the skins natural protective barrier and prepare the skin to receive its night time treats.

Meant for taking off even the heaviest, waterproof makeup. This is a silky cleansing balm that melts down to a slippery, thick oil consistency.

Melting into a silky oil, Estée Lauders Advanced Night Repair Micro Cleansing Balm swiftly removes makeup and pollution for a refreshed and purified feel, before transforming with water into a milky emulsion that rinses off with ease and leaves skin supple.
Ideal for daily use, the gentle cleanser leaves your complexion cushioned with hydration and radiant.
Suitable for all skin types.
How Do I Use These Cleansing Balms

You apply both of them on to dry skin with dry hands, work into the skin to remove your makeup/SPF/dirt and before adding water rub your fingers gently over your eyes to break down your eye makeup too. Once done, add water and massage the balm into your skin some more to emulsify it. Then rinse with warm water and remove any remaining residue with a flannel. You are then ready to move onto your second cleanse.
After using either cleansing balm my skin is always left feeling clean, refreshed and not stripped! Another thing to mention is that I have acne-prone skin and neither cleansing balm has ever caused me to breakout. However, I do only ever use them for a first cleanse in a double cleanse routine and I always follow up with another cleanser to ensure no residue is left on my skin.

What Is A Cleansing Balm Used For
If you read my blog post WHAT IS DOUBLE CLEANSING & SHOULD I BE DOING IT? , you may know that a cleansing balm is typically used as the first cleanse in your evening double cleanse routine. Your first cleanse is designed to remove SPF/makeup and general grime on your face.
Both the Estee Lauder and Clinique cleansing balm are suitable for this purpose!

So Which Cleanser Should I Go For
The one for..when youre on a budget: Clinique its better value for money!
those sensitive to fragrance: Clinique its fragrance and EO free
those looking for an experience when cleansing: Estee Lauder using this cleanser before bed is so addictive! The lavender smell relaxes me so much!
the perfect shelfie: Estee Lauder the frosted jar and gold lid combo is SO gorgeous and makes for a gram worthy picture!
How Well Do Both Cleansers Actually Remove Makeup/spf/grime From The Face
I find both cleansing balms remove SPF, light makeup and heavy makeup really well! My only point to mention would be that neither of them manage to completely dissolve my mascara but to be honest my second cleanse always manages to finish the job! Because of this I will sometimes use micellar water first to remove my eye makeup and then go in with a cleansing balm.
