This Product Is Pretty Good

Ok. these are cleansing cloths and they are decent, but only if no make up or sunscreen. i used these when i was wearing tinted sunscreen only and i had to use two cloths and scrub each time. i could tell it was not all gone with first cloth when second cloth has sunscreen on it too. so. not cost effective if you have to use two each time for make up removal. but they do scrub well. that being said.. they are very thick and very soft. they do feel good on the skin. there is no strong perfumy smell.

I got a small sample of Japanese cosmetics brand Koh Gen Do Cleansing SPA Water in a bag of samples from Lovelyskin.com about a month ago. It seemed good, but there was only enough for one or two usage occasions. After I mentioned it in my review of the sample bag, Koh Gen Do sent me a generous 12.85 fl. oz./380 ml size bottle as well as a box of their Pure Cotton pads to really try it out. Ive been using the duo for a little over two weeks, and I am in love.

Just a bit of background first. I found out about Koh Gen Do from Norah, a sister blogger from norahlovesmakeup.com, who is a professional makeup artist based in the NY/NJ area. Ive been using this cleansing spa water wipes for years now and despite how much they hike up the price I will occasionally buy it. The reason these are great is because theyre thick and quality wipes the spa water is soothing and doesnt irritate skin it does not strip your skin of its natural oils removes MOST of your products which include sunscreen. I also use these wipes when my skin freaks out whether its a reaction to a product or just a random freak out this tones down the problem. i always recommend them but thanks to dermstore point rewards its more affordable save your points!

My Experience With Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water:

Packaging: Comes in a very convenient plastic bottle with a flip top cap. Since I do have this in a travel size, I am also able to take this along with me whenever I travel.

Consistency/Usage/Results: This is a water-based makeup remover, very similar to Bioderma in function. It is highly effective in removing makeup and is very gentle. It will remove both regular and waterproof makeup with ease. I use one cotton round per eye, lightly soaked in the solution, and press it on my eye for about 5-10 seconds before wiping off and it removes everything from my eyes. It is super duper gentle and has never irritated or caused any stinging sensation on my eyes. My skin never feels greasy post wiping and I also love that this is a rinse-free formula which is a savior for those lazy days.

Since it is quite expensive, I only use this for my eye makeup and sometimes to remove my long-wear liquid lipsticks and lip products which tend to stain. In the demo picture, you can see that it removed eyeshadow, liquid lipstick, lip liner, waterproof eyeliner and mascara all of them in one swipe .

Post-use, it makes your skin feel very clean and refreshed without any dry or stretchy feeling. It calms any irritation on my skin too.

I also love the fact tat it is very mild, almost fragrance-free formula, which is a quality I like as the Bioderma one I have used in the past used to have a very bothersome scent. Bioderma also has a fragrance-free version which I havent used.

Didn’t Know I Had So Much Stuff On My Skin

I’ve been using this cleansing spa water in my AM & PM routine and am amazed at how much “stuff” appears on the cotton pad. In the morning, I rinse off my face and use the spa water afterward. The spa water clears away any remaining residue from my evening products. In the evening, I apply it after using my makeup remover and washing my face. My skin is now super clean, not dry feeling, and is ready to receive night time products.
