Preparing To Start A Cleanse
The Raw Food Detox Solution
When you increase the quality of your nutritional intake your body will naturally begin to heal itself. Even shifting to a whole-foods, plant-based diet can result in substantial health benefits.
However, raw foods have unique qualities that support the ability of your body to cleanse and release toxins. Fruit especially activates healing through initiating deep cleansing and enhancing the function of the organs of elimination.
The Natural Cleansing Process
Your body regularly attempts to purge toxins from your system by stimulating its natural cleansing processes. This can manifest in the form of symptoms that we interpret as an illness, such as a cold or flu.
Weve become accustomed to seeking out a quick fix in the form of a pill or remedy to alleviate discomfort. But the reality is that suppressing these symptoms hinders your bodys ability to eradicate toxins. This ultimately forces them deeper while the underlying cause of the problem remains.

Why Eat Fruits And Vegetables
Have you ever heard of the Five-a-Day campaign? It’s a global movement that encourages the consumption of at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day. Health organizations worldwide have embraced this approach to increase awareness of the benefits of plant-based foods.
The campaign is based on guidelines from the World Health Organization , which state that eating a minimum of 14 ounces of fruits and veggies each day may help prevent diabetes, cancer, obesity and nutrient deficiencies. The same source states that 14 percent of gastrointestinal cancer deaths, 11 percent of heart disease deaths and 9 percent of stroke deaths worldwide are due to low fruit and vegetable consumption.
A meta-analysis published in the July 2014 edition of the_ BMJ,_ which involved more than 833,000 participants, confirms that eating around five servings of fruits and vegetables a day increases lifespan and improves overall health. The average risk of death from all causes decreased 5 percent for each additional daily serving of fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, the risk of dying from heart disease was reduced by 4 percent for each additional daily serving.
Does It Really Work
Fruit and vegetables are an excellent way to help you lose weight. It is important to be mindful of what you eat and stick with a healthy diet to lose weight at a healthy pace. How Toxins Affect Your Health
All of us have been exposed to an extremely toxic load throughout our lifetimes. The food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe have all been contaminated with unnatural substances.
When your body accumulates more toxins than it is able to remove you will eventually begin to experience negative effects. In the beginning, you may notice a decline in energy levels. You might also experience occasional symptoms like headaches, allergies, or digestive discomfort.
Eventually, toxins can build-up to the point where they strain your organs and impair optimal functioning. If the situation is not addressed the effects of excess toxins can ultimately lead to the development of chronic health issues.

Raw Food 30 Days High Raw Vegan
When going raw for 30 days youll experience more positive effects the higher your raw foods ratio. When opting for a high raw vegan diet , it is again important to make sure that the non-raw options that you incorporate into your diet are also healthful choices. Most people find it more difficult to eat raw when out of the house, at social events or at restaurants. When going raw for 30 days and when following a high raw vegan diet, a good option is to eat close to 100% raw at home, and then opt for the healthiest non-raw options possible when at social events and other places where you must eat out of the house.
Health Benefits Review: Pros And Cons
Like most of the beliefs behind the raw food diet, many of the supposed health benefits are not supported by evidence.
Some studies have found the raw food diet to have positive health effects, but much of the research has found it has negative effects.
One study of people following a raw food diet found that it lowered blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. However, it also lowered healthy HDL cholesterol levels and led to a vitamin-B12 deficiency for many .
Another study found that people following a raw diet over long periods of time had an increased risk of tooth erosion .
Nevertheless, studies have consistently found that the raw food diet is associated with having less body fat.
One study of participants following a raw diet long-term found that it was associated with large losses of body fat .
Men lost an average of 21.8 pounds after switching to a raw diet and women lost an average of 26.4 pounds . However, 15% of men and 25% of women in the study were also underweight.
Additionally, 70% of women on the diet experienced irregularities in their menstrual cycle. And nearly one-third of women developed amenorrhea, meaning they stopping menstruating, which can be a consequence of low body weight.
Another small study found that people following a raw vegan diet had significantly lower calorie intake and body fat than those who werent following the diet. Nonetheless, they also had low protein, calcium and vitamin D intakes .

Raw Fruits And Vegetables Diet Tips To Guide Beginners
Jeanne is a published author who has published several works of fiction in addition to nonfiction books about business, marketing, and gardening. She is president of Seven Oaks Consulting, a content marketing agency.
Eating only raw fruits and vegetables is also called a raw food diet, living foods diet, or a raw vegan diet. Going raw, as proponents call it, entails a transition period from the typical standard American diet of cooked, processed and refined foods sprinkled with some fruits and vegetables to a diet based entirely on plant-based products. Such a diet is rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, but may be lacking in certain essential nutrients.
Keep Your Diet Varied
A balanced diet should provide 2,000 to 3,000 calories per day for men and 1,600 to 2,400 calories per day for women, according to the USDA Dietary Guidelines. The more active you are, the higher your calorie intake should be.
To meet these guidelines, eat nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Avocado, for example, provides 80 calories, 1 gram of protein, 4.2 grams of carbs, 7.3 grams of fat and 3.4 grams of fiber per serving. Green peas boast 62 calories, 8.5 grams of protein, 25 grams of carbs, 0.3 grams of fat and 8.8 grams of fiber per serving .
Don’t be afraid to experiment in the kitchen. A fruit and vegetable diet is anything but boring. You don’t have to live off salads or give up your favorite treats. The key is to find healthier substitutes.
Craving potato chips or crackers? Try baked kale or zucchini chips instead. Satisfy your sweet tooth with a delicious fruit salad topped with homemade strawberry glaze â use stevia instead of sugar for extra flavor.
Salads can be delicious too. Get your creative juices flowing and experiment with hearty vegan recipes, such as spicy cucumber salad, vegan taco salad with chickpeas, roasted butternut squash salad with lime, or fennel asparagus salad with avocado.
Nutrition Review: Pros And Cons
A raw food diet has some positive points. Mainly, it is very high in fresh fruits and vegetables. It also incorporates other foods that are high in nutrients and fiber.
To its credit, a raw food diet limits the intake of foods known to contribute to poor health if you eat them in excess, such as processed junk foods and added sugar.
Additionally, a raw food diet nearly guarantees weight loss because it is low in calories. Yet despite this, there are also many cons to a raw food diet.
When someone switches from a mostly cooked diet to a mostly raw diet, their calorie intake is likely to decrease dramatically. Some people may not find it possible to eat enough raw food to meet their daily calorie needs .
This is partially because fruits and vegetables, though healthy, simply dont provide enough calories or protein to make up the majority of the diet.
Additionally, cooking increases the digestibility of foods, making it easier for your body to get calories and nutrients from them. In some cases, your body gets significantly fewer calories from a food if its raw (
Finally, raw diets tend to be nutritionally unbalanced because they must be mostly made up of either fats or fruits to meet calorie needs .
This means raw diets may be deficient not only in calories, but also in some vitamins, minerals and protein .
Raw food diets are made up of healthy foods and are likely to cause weight loss, but they are often too low in calories and some nutrients.
What You Can Eat And What You Can’t
The first day of Fruit Flush consists of a protein shake every 2 hours between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., followed by 8-12 ounces of water. Dinner is a raw salad with olive or flaxseed oil, or half an avocado, along with 3-6 ounces of lean protein or egg whites.
The next 2 days are all about fruit from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.: one 100-calorie serving of fruit every 2 hours. Dinner is either salad or half an avocado, plus one protein shake.
If youve got a caffeine habit or enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, youre out of luck. Seasonings, sweeteners, and salt are off this plan.

What Is The Raw Food Diet
The raw food diet is composed of plants that have not been heated past a certain temperature, explains Susan Levin, M.S., R.D., C.S.S.D., director of nutrition education at Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. The exact definition of raw varies from person to person, she notes, but 118°F seems to be the upper limit for most people.
In its strictest form, the diet is entirely made up of raw, unprocessed foods some people allot a certain percentage of their food intake for non-raw foods, Levin says. Raw veganism is the most common form of the diet, but you can also consume raw, unprocessed animal products, including fish, eggs, and milk.
The goal is to eat foods in their natural state, explains Pam Fullenweider, R.D., M.S., a registered dietitian. The theory is that heat in cooking destroys enzymes needed for digestion and creates toxins in our bodies. There is no scientific evidence that supports this idea.
You can eat vegetables, fruits, sprouted beans, sprouted grains, nuts, and seeds on the raw food diet. Blending, juicing, drying, fermenting, pressing, and soaking are all acceptable methods of preparationmeaning that oils, nut butters, nut milks, cold-brewed drinks, and dried fruits are all fair game.

Summing Up The Raw Food Diet
There are many reasons to consider switching to a raw food diet. There are numerous health benefits, and its better for the environment. Last but not least: Its always a good thing to reconsider our consumer behavior and spend more time on healthy eating.
Still, you shouldnt rush into a raw food diet. Its better to increase the proportion of raw foods in your usual diet step by step this way you wont immediately overtax your digestive system. Stomach ailments, a feeling of fullness, and even diarrhea are typical symptoms of a rushed conversion to raw food.
Inform yourself beforehand about any new approach to your nutrition by talking to others or by buying a guidebook with detailed tips and information . If you suffer from chronic deficiency symptoms or diseases, discuss your change in diet with a doctor.
Ultimately: Every person is different and everybody has different needs. If you notice that you dont feel comfortable with an exclusively raw food diet, you can always reduce the raw food portion as necessary. The most important thing is to eat a balanced diet. You should be taking care of your own health as well as the well-being of animals and the environment.
