I think Tata Harpers oil cleanser smells divine and cleanses beautifully, leaving my skin feeling soft and supple.
Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser
This is another gentle facial cleanser especially curated for sensitive skin. This is one of the deep cleansing products. This facial cleanser penetrates deep into the skin and it is highly moisturizing in nature. It contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid which is known to deep cleanse the skin and moisturize it at the same time.
Suitable for sensitive dry skin too.
A Deep Cleansing Clay That’s Perfect For Oily Skin
Another excellent choice from sensitive skin-friendly brand First Aid Beauty, this deep cleanser effectively saps up excess oils using red clay and a mix of gentle cleansing agents â but the gentle, sulfate-free formula ensures your face will never be left feeling dry or tight. The cleanser also contains licorice root extract to help fade post-acne marks and even out your skin tone over time â something those with acne prone skin are sure to appreciate. Glycerin keeps skin hydrated while you cleanse and green tea soothes irritation and redness.
What’s more, the formula is free of alcohol, parabens, artificial dyes and fragrance, and even propylene glycol â a known irritant to which many sensitive skin types are allergic.
Helpful review: “No irritating dryness and no harsh chemicals or fragrance. I have highly sensitive acne prone combo t-zone type skin and this got my skin in serious check. If u share the same skin type PLZ buy this face wash – itâs also an amazing skin care company. Your skin will thank you!! I promise!”

Sulwhasoo Snowise Ex Cleansing Foam
The most expensive cleanser on this list is the Sulwhasoo Snowrise EX Cleansing Foam. This cleanser is infused with white clay components to help clean your skin. The texture is silky, creamy, and smooth. When you apply it on it will turn bubbly and will be easy to rinse off.
Sulwhasoo is fairly expensive compared to the others on this list and the brand itself is considered one of the more luxury brands in Korea. This cleanser helps to make your skin more translucent and helps fade any scars. Thanks to its low-pH, it is able to help keep acne at bay. It has an earthy pine forest smell and feels like you are having a luxurious bath for your face.

Ingredients To Avoid In A Cleanser For Sensitive Skin
Keep an eye out for the word fragrance on skincare labels, since they usually contain a ton of harmful chemicals and companies arent required to disclose them. A number of these ingredients have been linked to serious health risks and they have the potential to irritate or aggravate existing skin problems.
With sensitive skin, its best to stay away from mechanical forms of exfoliation, which includes harsh scrubs. This form of exfoliation is way too aggressive for sensitive skin along with its damaging effects, it could also cause redness or irritation.
Dr Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water
Out of the K-Beauty Makeup Removers on this list, this product is slightly acidic to complement the skins pH levels to avoid skin irritation. Therefore make sure you know your pH level or else this product might sting. It acts as an all-in-one cleansing water that is formulated with 85% active hydrogen mineral water. In addition, it contains a derma toning complex for toning and brightening benefits. You can use this as a toner and even a face wash. Dr.Jart+ has gotten a lot of traction in 2019 and should have a huge 2020 for K-Beauty products.

The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Rice Cleansing Water
The Face Shop offers Rice Water-based cleansing water. This is one of the few K-Beauty makeup removers that use rice water, which helps with brightening and calming irritated skin. In addition to rice water, it contains moringa oil and soapwort which further helps with hydration purification, and helps detox your skin. For those that have very oily skin, rice water or sea salt usually works best at removing makeup. It has a very pleasant smell and will last a long time. I recommend using only one pump of the product per cleanse. It is not as effective as the other cleansers because it is rice water-based but those that do not apply heavy makeup should not have any issues.

A Cleansing Balm That Removes All Traces Of Makeup Without Clogging Pores
If you wear makeup or have oily skin, you should really consider using an oil-based cleanser at night. It might sound odd to wash with oil but because oil sticks to oil, it truly is the most effective way to remove makeup and deeply cleanse your pores of excess sebum and buildup.
This cult-favoritebalm cleanserstarts out as a mess-free solid, but quickly melts into an oil as you massage it into your skin. The super gentle formula won’t irritate sensitive skin types, and it’s free of mineral oil, too. If you plan on following the double-cleansing method, you’d want to use this cleanser first, since it’s oil-based. Follow up with a gel or water-based cleanser for a satisfyingly deep cleanse.
Helpful review: “It makes my face feel soft and hydrated without clogging my pores or promoting acne. It doesn’t feel greasy or oily, yet not dried out. It’s quite remarkable.”

Shiseido Senka Perfect Cleansing Foam
The Shiseido cleansing foam is something different. This one is a foam and not oil or water-based. These types of cleaners are very good for dry skin. If you have been using an oil or water-based cleanser, this is a must-have.
Foam cleansers like these are very lightweight on the skin and doesnt strip natural oils from the skin. Thats the main benefit when using this while other cleansers do.
The cleanser can be bought in three different types. Each cleanser has its own feature. The one that I like the most is the white cleanser. This cleanser contains natural silk essence and hyaluronic acid.
These ingredients are extremely good for the skin. This is definitely one of the best fash wash Ive ever tried, and Ive tried 20+ different ones. It is recommended to use a moisturizer right after the cleansing foam.
Unfortunately, the cleansing foam does make the skin a bit dry after. So, if you have extremely dry skin, this might be a pass. However, its still worth giving it a try because I have dry and sensitive skin, and this one worked very well for me.

Types Of Facial Cleansers
Once you understand your skin type, its a lot easier to select the proper facial cleanserand in most cases all you have to do is read the bottle. A vast majority of face washes clearly state the skin types they are designed for right on the label, so keep this is mind while youre shopping. This applies to the wide variety of available facial cleanser options, and you may find you prefer one type in the morning, another at night and potentially a different formula for the gym or when youre on the go. Regardless of the facial cleanser you choose, a product that contains ceramides can help ensure effective cleansing without disrupting the skins barrier
A gel facial cleanser effectively removes makeup as well as dirt and excess oil, and these lightweight formulas generally produce lather. Gel facial cleansers can be formulated with additional ingredients like hyaluronic acid for hydration, and our Renewing SA Cleanser features salicylic acid for gentle exfoliationbut its important to look for a mild gel facial cleanser that doesnt strip the skin of its natural oils.

Benton Tea Tree Cleansing Water
For those that like Tea Tree products, the Benton Tea Tree Cleansing Water would be great for you. This product is great for cleaning your skin but also is great for treating acne. Its main ingredient is Tea Tree and only has 9 other ingredients. These ingredients in this makeup remover help keep your skins moisture barrier strong rather than take away your natural oils. Those that do not like using hard acids or chemicals on their skin can use this product every single day.
Think of this product as the more natural way of clearing and cleaning your skin. Make sure you are not allergic to tea tree oil as many Koreans are allergic to tea tree oil.

An Enzyme Powder Cleanser That Exfoliates Sensitive Skin Without Irritation
Most cleansers contain preservatives and stabilizing ingredients to keep them from spoiling, and that’s because they also contain water. The presence of water creates an environment where bacteria can easily grow, if there isn’t something in the formula to slow that process. But because powder cleansers â like this one that’s made from corn and rice bran â don’t contain any water, they also contain far fewer potentially irritating preservatives.
Once the powder comes in contact with your damp palms, it turns into a light foam that’s easy to handle. The slightly grainy texture and papaya extract in the formula work together to gently exfoliate sensitive skin without the irritation that often comes with using a scrub. And, you can even control the level of exfoliation by adjusting the amount of water you mix in.
Helpful review:“I absolutely love this face wash! I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin and this is so gentle on my skin that I use it every night. It’s not overly moisturizing for my oily face but still leaves it squeaky clean. This product has definitely helped keep my breakouts under control ever since I included it into my skincare routine. I’m definitely going to buy it again!”
How Often Should You Wash Your Face
oDermatologists recommend washing your face 1-2 times a day, morning and/or evening, depending on your skins needs. Those with dry or sensitive skin may prefer to cleanse only once, while those with oily or acne-prone skin may elect to cleanse morning and evening. After exercise, it is recommended to wash your face to remove excess sweat that may have accumulated. Lastly, for those who wear makeup, it is important to efficiently cleanse to remove makeup and residue before bed.

What Is An Oil
Oil-based cleansers bond with all the impurities and oils on the skin and are then gently removed with a washcloth or rinsed off with water.
Conversely, oil-free or water-based cleansers are lightweight in consistency and formulated without oils. They are known as surface-active agents, or surfactants and are water-soluble. They break down and remove oils and dirt on the surface of skin which is then rinsed away.
These cleansers typically have a foam or gel-like consistency, but some are available in lotion form as well. While they are intended for oily or combination skin, there are a variety of formulas with a range of active ingredients to benefit other skin types.

Where To Buy: and Jolse
This unique low pH powder-form cleanser has some of the best reviews I have read . Many people swear that they will never switch to another cleanser after using this one!
Its quite an affordable choice . Another positive is that it contains no comedogenic ingredients YAY!
This was the only product that I reviewed here that contains sodium lauryl sulfate , so if your skin truly cant handle sulfates then it might not be suitable for your skin. It also contains alcohol denat., which can affect some people with very sensitive skin.
Again, this cleanser may not be suitable for you if you are looking to fight fungal acne, as it contains two ingredients which are known to promote and feed the growth of fungal acne fungi.
I personally have been wanting to try this cleanser for myself for a long time now and after reading many reviews for this article Ive been reminded how much I need to get myself a bottle!

How do I know if my skincare is water-based?
To ensure that your skin care product is water-based, go through the ingredient list. If the product contains oils like jojoba, argan, or almond, then the product is oil-based. If it contains water and humectants like hyaluronic acid, peptides, glycerin, amino acids, and urea, it is a water-based product.
