Great Cleanser Just Not For Me
I wanted to love this cleanser but its not for me unfortunately. The scent is amazing and very light, its refreshing, and has a nice lather. It would be a great choice for someone with oilier skin! I have normal to dry skin, and live in a pretty dry climate, and this cleanser just dried me out too much and my face felt really tight and parched after using. Ive found I do a lot better with creamier and more hydrating cleansers
Youth To The People Skincare Review
If Im going to use something daily, I want it to align with my values. That includes skincare.
While Youth to the People is a skincare brand, its not only focused on producing quality formulas, it wants to make the world a better place. Taking a social justice and sustainability-led approach to its plant-fueled products, the brand has gained a ton of attention.
It has quite a sizable following on Instagram tooover 518kand I found Youth to the People featured on numerous websites such as GQ, Elle, People Magazine, and Refinery 29.

Founders Joe Cloyes and Greg Gonzales started Youth to the People in 2015. With their grandmother, mother, and aunt all serving as veterans in the beauty industry, it seems that the interest in skincare runs in the family, the two carrying on what so clearly runs in their blood.
Except, the cousins didnt just want to create any standard skincare brand, they decided to integrate a social justice and sustainability approach into their company mission, landing on a name that harkened the iconic phrase: power to the people.

What Is Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser
The brand calls their Superfood Cleanser a green juice cleanse for your face. With key ingredients like kale, spinach, and green tea, this cleanser almost sounds more like a smoothie than a skin care product. But it is in fact a facial cleanser that is said to effectively prevent buildup in pores, remove makeup, and balance pH without drying or stripping. Youth to The People Superfood Cleanse is recommended for all skin types to cleanse your skin while also providing the benefits of cold-pressed antioxidants.
Youth To The People Review: The Ultimate Guide 2022
Superfood skincare brand Youth To The People is a cult favorite among clean beauty fans and non-fans alike. The vegan, minimalist and unisex line that focuses on superfood ingredients like kale and spinach is a Sephora aisle staple and has a massive loyal following. Youth To The People is also social impact driven and has their own Good To The People Funds that supports nonprofit leaders in climate, gender equity, racial equity, and human rights. In 2021 I finally tried out most of the Youth To The People line, which is priced in the $30-$60 range, and am sharing the brands hits and misses for me. To discover the best Youth To The People products, read on for the ultimate Youth To The People review!
In December 2021 Youth To The People was bought by beauty giant LOréal. Youth To The People is a vegan skincare brand but its new parent company LOreal does test on animals. This is something to note if youre a vegan who does not support brands owned by parent companies who are not cruelty-free.

Youth To The People Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant
The Youth To The People Mandelic Acid + Superfood Unity Exfoliant is a triple threat liquid toner with AHA, PHA and BHA. Besides the fact that this acid toner is gentle and non-drying or irritating yet still adequately effective, Im in love with its scent. Its a eucalyptus like spa scent that just smells amazing.
The Youth to the People Mandelic Acid Superfood Unity Exfoliant is a workhorse of a toner. With a combination of BHA, AHA and PHA, it decongests pores, smooths texture, evens skin tone, and supports the skin barrier.
The formula boasts 3% mandelic acid to gently shift dull surface skin cells, 2% salicylic acid to unclog pores, and 1% gluconolactone boosts cell turnover and hydration to help support your skins moisture barrier. The Youth To The People toner also has antioxidant-rich liquorice root to soothe skin and reduce excess sebum production and glucosamine to hydrate and visibly fade the look of dark spots.

Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser Reviews
Youth to The People Superfood Cleanser reviews on the brands website are overall very positive, with the product receiving an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars after more than 1,000 customer reviews.
Positive reviews for the Youth to The People Superfood Cleanser mention that it truly does help to keep skin clear and smooth. For example, one review says, I dont usually write reviews, but I had to for this amazing cleanser. This cleanser has seriously helped out my skin. Ive always suffered from little bumps and small pimples around my face, and in the span of 3 weeks, theyve almost vanished. I was a little wary of purchasing such an expensive cleanser, when Ive always bought drugstore face washes, but I dont regret a single thing. The scent is light and not too powerful, and a little goes a long way. I absolutely love it. If youre seeking a miracle-working face wash, seriously consider buying this.
There arent many negative reviews for the Youth to The People Superfood Cleanser, but those that we did read were from customers who actually experienced more acne breakouts and/or skin dryness and irritation after using this cleanser. For example, one review says, I finally had clear skin after years of struggle and Ive heard many good things about this cleanser. But as soon as I started using it, my forehead broke out really badly and my acne wont go away now.

Maqui, açaí, and goji. Sounds like the ingredients to make a pretty delicious smoothie, right? Well, it turns out that these fruits are not only smoothie-worthy, they are also packed with beneficial antioxidants and nutrients that can give your face a radiant glow. Youth to the People added these skin-loving ingredients into their Superberry Hydrate and Glow Oil. Intensely hydrating prickly pear and squalane oil lock in moisture with the help of omega fatty acids and high levels of vitamin C.

Review: Youth To The People Superfoods Cleanser
While a green colored wash with kale, vitamins, and spinach may sound over the top, Youth To The Peoples Superfoods cleanser with a distinct hipster formulation has been all the rage as of late, and we wanted to test it out to find out exactly why.
I dont really know if or why Id want to put kale, spinach, or green tea on my face, but fans of the product seem to claim its an extremely clarifying treatment thats literally super.
For the purposes of review, Ill try most products at least once, and this one is no exception.
Supposedly, the formula, which also contains a proprietary blend of vitamins and antioxidants, does wonders to rejuvenate the skin and give you your most youthful glow, while helping its users with anti-acne benefits as well.
Its best put on your face after youve already dampened your skin, lather on until it turns to a foam, gently pat dry, and follow with your favorite cream.
But does Youth To The Peoples Superfoods Cleanser live up to its hype, or is it just more millennial-style kale marketing?
We reviewed first to find out more, so you wouldnt have to.
What Are The Key Ingredients In Youth To The People Skincare Products
Harnessing powerful antioxidants and phytonutrients from cold-pressed plant extracts, Youth To The People combines superfoods and science to keep your skin youthful and vibrant. But what exactly are antioxidants? And how do they benefit your skin?
Antioxidants donate electrons to free radicals. Free radicals only have one unpaired electron, which makes the free radical unstable and highly reactive. In an attempt to become more stable, free radicals will either donate their single electron to another molecule or accept an electron from another molecule.
Ultimately, this leads to a chain of events that rips electrons off all nearby molecules. This is problematic because free radicals can rip electrons off our important cellular structures, like DNA, proteins, carbohydrates, or the cell membrane, which damages the cell and may even lead to cell death.
The International Dermal Institute explains, Antioxidants help prevent such damage by giving free radicals what they want before they attack your cells. This is important because when oxidative damage accumulates in the skin the result is inflammation, uneven skin tone, and premature signs of aging.

Youth To The People Cleanser
The most buzzed-about product by this brand is definitely the Youth to The People Superfood Cleanser. They call it a green juice cleanse for your face because of the inclusion of superfoods like kale, spinach, green tea, and alfalfa. Kale is rich in skin-loving phytonutrients and vitamins C, E, and K. Spinach has the ability to soothe the skin while adding hydration. Green tea contains the polyphenol EGCG, which has anti-inflammatory properties and has also been shown to decrease oxidative stress. Alfalfa contains flavonoid antioxidants that protect against free radicals.
While the Youth to The People Cleanser sounds amazing in theory, keep in mind that this is a rinse-off product. That means the antioxidants in these superfood extracts really cant provide protection against environmental free radicals if they are being washed off of your face! The true key ingredients in the Youth to The People Cleanser are coconut-derived surfactants, which help to remove excess oil, makeup, dirt, and other impurities.

The Story Behind Youth To The People
Youth to the People was founded by cousins Joe Cloyes and Greg Gonzalez who have been immersed in the professional skin care industry their whole lives. Their grandmother created her own skin care line in the Bay Area over 30 years ago, which meant Joe and Greg spent their early years running around her office learning about ingredients, skin types, and the business. After years in the industry, they noticed a void in the market a modern, straightforward, vegan skin care line good for all skin types and everyday use. Thus, the idea for Youth to the People was born.

The brands mission is in their name: to bring youth to the people. Well give you the details on the key ingredients in this cleanser, how to use it, Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser reviews from real customers, and more.
Youth To The People Superclay Purify + Clear Power Mask
Applying a clay mask and relaxing in a hot bath is one of the best ways to unwind from a long day. While most clay masks include only clay as the key ingredient, the Youth to The People Superclay Mask takes things a step further. This triple-clay mask is supercharged with 2% niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3. Niacinamide is an amazing, multi-tasking skincare ingredient. A publication in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, states that niacinamide can repair the skin barrier and improve skin moisture, as well as reduce inflammation, blotchiness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and wrinkling.

Whom Do I Recommend It To
While this is definitely not a cleanser for very dry or sensitive skin , I think it is a great option for more oily skin types or for people that arent quite ready to let go of that shower gel for the face phase. This cleanser would be in my suggestions both for teenage skin and for those in their 20s .

I Tested Three Of The Products From The Line Here’s What To Expect From Some Of The Company’s Bestsellers:
The Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil is an “ultra-enriched,” fast-absorbing face oil packed with rare super berry antioxidants. The oil combines maqui the fruit billed as the most antioxidant-dense in the world with açaí and goji. The rest of its ingredients round out the serum, with intensely hydrating prickly pear and squalene oil to lock in moisture with omega fatty acids and high levels of vitamin C. Jojoba and sunflower oil bump luminosity and moisturize dull skin without adding weight.
All in all, this was the real standout product for me. The Glow Oil is intensely hydrating, a few drops go a long way, and it left my skin feeling smoother, more luminous, and much more hydrated without leaving a slick, grimy film like some oils. If you like the fresh, dewy look or to be described as “glowing,” then this is for you.
The Superfood Air-Whip Moisturizer is the aforementioned Green Smoothie for your skin packed with kale, spinach, green tea, and the skincare heavyweight hyaluronic acid for added moisture. The operative word here is “whip” the product hydrates, but one aspect of its lightweight texture is that it’s able to be absorbed quickly and without leaving a residue. YTTP recommends using it after a serum, and I’d echo that sentiment for maximum hydration. It worked well for me especially in conjunction with the Glow Oil, but extra dry skin might warrant more product than makes sense at the price.
How To Use The Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser
Depending on your preferences, it can be used both morning and night. Texture and scent did make me use it in the mornings preferably, but I also used it at night on no makeup days or as second cleanse. To get the best lather, I poured some into my palms, added water and lathered it up before putting it on my face, but if that is too much of a hassle, applying it to wet skin works almost as good. While it claims to take off makeup, I did not like it for that purpose. Not that it stings my eyes or anything, it just doesnt get rid of my mascara as easily as I would have wanted it to.It is by no means hydrating, but I didnt find it to be stripping either. My husband claimed that if used after shaving, the skin felt a little tight, so you might not be a fan if your skin is dry or irritated already.
